Códice Tuna | on Tumblr (Germany/Mexico)
Códice Tuna, “The Indian-fig Codex” in Spanish, is the name of the international art collective founded by Sinuhé David and Borayin Larios in 2008. It reads itself like a pre-hispanic codex where the word and image coexist to tell a story. Influenced by popular art and kitsch, as well as mysticism and surrealism, Códice Tuna decided to give form to their vision of the world through art. To share their critical vision and to provoke reflexion, Códice Tuna uses different techiniques and media such as street art through stencils, stickers, t-shirts and other accessories. Please visit Códice Tuna’s website, Flickr or follow their Tumblr for more work and inspiration.

Adam Ferriss | on Tumblr (b.1988, USA) - Zero-Player Game
Los Angeles based artist Adam Ferriss presents a sundry of photographic phantasmagoria. After receiving a BFA from The Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD, he relocated to Los Angeles, CA where he currently resides. His work includes RGB Tricolor separation, mashed pixel array data, color & black & white photographs. For this particular collection of greyscale patterns, Ferriss used code written in the popular programming language Processing that employed two techniques: pixel sorting and cellular automata. Starting with a photograph of a wave crashing against a craggy shore, Ferriss first used code to sort the pixels from brightest to darkest (his program was a tweaked version of one written by fellow artist Jeff Thompson). Then Ferriss made a greyscale version of that image and sorted its pixels again. At this point in the process, the original ocean scene is totally unrecognizable, having been rearranged pixel by pixel into a bouquet of monochrome diamonds. (cf. Fast Co Design) You can visit his website or follow his Tumblr for more work.

Moritz Wehr aka Mowr | on Tumblr (b.1994, Austria) - Friendship
Moritz Wehr, also known as Mowr, is a young artist based in Austria. Curious yet introverted, he is constantly trying to embrace the world and making the best out of every situation. Moritz loves to experiment with colors, light through his work and limitates always the image to a few objects, trying to focus on a few important things, leaving out unnecessary detail. By creating beautiful and interesting images, he tries also to capture a feeling, thought or deeper meaning: “My greatest goal would be that when people are looking at my images, that they experience or feel something.” Please follow artist’s Tumblr for more work. Sweden born Berlin based photographer and retoucher Erik Johansson doesn’t capture moments but ideas. He creates deftly funny and mind blowing images by manipulating photographs that he took himself: “To me photography is just a way to collect material to realize the ideas in my mind.
