The New York based artist Jenny Morgan creates large figurative oil paintings. She considers these works “psychological portraits”, conflating the physicality of paint and person, psychology and physiology. Morgan uses different techniques, like building up paint or, conversely, sanding it down, to express the inner feelings of the sitters. Her portraits and nudes, bigger than life size, combine photorealist elements with simple and flashy colors, making reference to other approaches such as pop art. (cf.
