Gonzalo Bénard | on Tumblr - B Shot by a Stranger, Marseille (2011)

It’s so much easier to occasionally vent with a stranger who will not judge you. You know you’re being shot. You feel good doing so. You feel that you have someone giving you the attention you need at this moment that you feel lonely. You expose yourself. You play. You laugh. You talk. You pose. Naturally. Being yourself, feeling safe, shot by a stranger. A stranger that you can trust. “B Shot by a Stranger” is a new photograph’s exhibition/book project. In colour. In blues mood.

Half Spanish half French, Gonzalo Bénard is a creator living and working between Barcelona, Paris and Lisbon. Gonzalo sees himself as a honest venter who needs to turn into real his worries, thoughts, dreams, love and humankind, a subconscious’ researcher who tries constantly to find the meanings and jewellery of life, and a creator of dialogues playing with images of light. He always starts creating with what the subconscious tells him without filters: “Sometimes are dreams, some other times is just a night digesting a music listened the night before. Or a conversation. Daily moments of no conscious, leaving the subconscious to do the whole work. Freeing the worries and dreams into real imagery. Starting dialogues with the other. And with myself. Putting myself on other’s skins and lives. Living nature as it is. Learning with it. Then, it’s a camera or a paper and a pencil. and Light. Natural if possible for me to feel it on my own skin.” (interview with artist by ARTchipel Oct-2011)
